Universal glue Metal Glu TORNADO is highly resistant, two- component epoxide glue, which sticks together metals, ceramics, concrete, wood, foamed polystyrene, granite, hard rubber, glass, plastics (excluding polyethylene, polypropylene and teflon) The epoxy glues are characterized by maximum adhesion (adhesive force) amongst the other kinds of glue and regenerative materials.
Before applying the glue, the same amount of component should be squeezed out onto the plastic plate from the dosage device A (base) and the dosage device B (reactor), 50% of each component, and mixed exactly together using the attached wood spatula.
The surfaces should be degreased exactly using grease solvent and, advantageously, rasped by file or abrasive paper. Following the exact mixing (very important) the two components together, the glue should be applied at once onto the clean and degreased surfaces and not later than 20 min from the instant of mixing. It ripens to the “dry touch” in one hour. The glue reaches 40% of the full strength in 4-5 hours, the average strength in 12 hours at the temperature 18°C. The glue obtains full strength after 24 hours. The process of polymerization of the glue is slower at lower temperature. At temperature below 12°C the process of polymerization does not occur.
PRESSURE ONTO GLUE JOINT.
It is recommended to impose an initial pressure onto the glue joint during the first hour of sticking that is at the beginning of polymerization of the glue. The force should be applied to the place of sticking, by loading the glue joint with a low weight (e.g., a thicker book) or by wrapping the detail to be glued together with a string or rubber ring (even adhesive band) to develop a pressure.
DO NOT CONFUSE THE STOPPERS.
The two dosage devices are marked with different colors and are provided with stoppers in corresponding colors. It is important – do not apply a stopper marked with one color- to the dosage device marked with a different color. Such a mistake may initiate the process of hardening of the outflow of the component from the dosage device and result in damage of the preparation.
The preparation may cause allergy in the case of contact with skin during mixing and applying onto the surfaces. The preparation contains epoxide and amine hardening agent, which has irritating action to eyes and skin. It may cause allergy in the case of contact with skin, so it is recommended to use protective gloves. Store under closure and keep inaccessible for children. In the case of contact with eyes apply washing with water and contact medical help. The preparation has the hygienic certificate PZH No HKW/W/0468/01/2000 to admit contact with drinking water after hardening of the junction.
SOME DESIGN AND REPAIR APPLICATIONS - EXAMPLES.
1.Stopping leakages from heat exchangers, water pipes, central heating, fuel and oil tanks, patching polyester shell plating of yachts or tanks, etc.
2.Repair cracks in metal details. Reinforcement of corroded elements and sheet metal by wrapping several layers bandage of cloth, glass fabric or wire net with a layer of glue.
3.Fixing shafts in holes, screws in screwed elements and mutual fixing separate elements of structure made of metal, ceramic or plastic material, by means of glue joint.
4.Embedding metal elements in ceramic or concrete substrate, in marble, granite, porcelain, semi-vitreous chinaware, plastics (excluding polyethylene).
5.Mutual fixing of elements made of: metal, ceramics, stone, semi-vitreous chinaware, glass, wood etc., e.g. reconstruction of bearing seat by means of glue.
6.Tightening cylinder blocks and engine heads from the waterside, removing cracks of casts and welds. In this case we do grooving of the crack using drilling or grinding machine, drill a small hole at the beginning and the end of crack and subsequently fill the groove with glue; advantageously we put on the groove a piece of metal wire net or glass fabric, pressing it into the glue; subsequently we apply additional layer of glue on the top of joint.
7.Repairing furniture, toys, tableware, and tool handles.
